Petroleum Development Oman Origins and History Maturity (1994–2002) Company had to drill wells, hook them up to a new gas processing plant at Saih Rawl, and then transport the processed gas via a 352kilometre pipeline to Qalhat The Saih Rawl Central Processing Plant and the gas pipeline from Saih Rawl to Qalhat were dedicated to the nation in November 1999, the first downstream
The plants which will be modernized are the Saih Nihayda Gas Plant (SNGP) and the Saih Rawl Central Processing Plant (SRCPP), located in the central part of the country, in the Omani desert, near the city of Qarn Alam, 35 km from one another.
Detail Design. The Saih Rawl CPP has been processing wet gas from two gas reservoirs, Barik and Miqrat in Central Oman since mid1999. The facilities in CPP were originally designed for an export capacity of 40 MMSCMD of treated gas. The Company has initiated a separate project to debottleneck the existing plant to bring the export capacity to 48 MMSCMD.
